A weekend of Celebration

The Liberian Community Association of Central New Jersey in the Metro Area (LCACNJMA) is delighted to announce the celebration of Liberia’s 176th Independence Day. This highly anticipated event will take place from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 23, 2023, in the vibrant city of Trenton, New Jersey.

The organizing team has curated an exciting lineup of festivities that will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Liberia and provide an immersive experience for attendees. The three-day celebration promises a fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, making it an event not to be missed.

The jubilation will kick off on Friday, July 21, 2023, with a lively welcome party. It will serve as a delightful prelude to the main festivities and set the tone for a weekend filled with joy, unity, and cultural pride.

Events for the entire family

The parade

On Saturday, July 22, the streets of Trenton will come alive with a vibrant parade, which will commence promptly at 10:30 am. The parade will begin at the intersection of West State Street and Calhoun Street, creating a vibrant spectacle of Liberian culture, music, and dance. Participants and onlookers can expect colorful costumes, rhythmic beats, and an atmosphere brimming with joy. Join us as we celebrate Liberia’s rich heritage and the achievements of our people. 

Sporting events

Following the parade, the celebration will continue with exhilarating sporting events. The kickball match between the OTA Bigjue and LCACNJMA and the highly anticipated IE vs. Barrolle match, a traditional soccer rivalry, will take place at Father Roccer Field, located at 1801 Calhoun Street, Trenton, NJ 08638. Witness the community’s athletic prowess and revel in the thrilling displays of skill and camaraderie.

The After Party

After an action-packed day, the festivities will carry on into the night with an energetic after party. Join us at 197 W. Ingham Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08618, as we dance to the beats of Liberian music, savor delicious traditional cuisine, and revel in the vibrant atmosphere of unity and cultural pride.

The Cookout

On Sunday, July 23, join us at Father Roccer Field for a delightful cookout, where attendees can enjoy mouthwatering food and engage in community bonding activities.
